I am looking for information about the the Michigan/Illinois Central Railway between 1850 and 1860. I am also looking for any information about James McGregor, Sr., an employee of the railroad, who was involved in the extension of the line from Bay City, Michigan to Chicago. By 1858, he was an employee of the railroad, residing in Centralia. In addition, I am interested in any information about his wife, Elizabeth Newlands Robinson, widow, who married James McGregor in Centralia about 1850. It is likely that she was originally a resident of Pennsylvania and resided in Centralia with her two sons at the time of her marriage. Further information on the data of the railway may help me find the details of this family; they are my great-great-grandparents, both born in Glascow,Scotland. Thank you for any help you can give.
